Good News Bad News

So Thursday Patient saw the specialist. They did more probing and even simulated a contraction in order to observe the cervix. During this the cervix didn't react so that was good, measurements show that the cervix is not as "short" as first thought, so we gained some length back (in theory). The specialist recommended sending Patient home for bed rest, if she was comfortable with that. Bad news was that the specialist noticed that there was excess amniotic fluid, which can cause a whole host of other problems so they want to monitor that. He will see us again in a month. They said our little guy looked to be about 2 lbs and has a big head (if we go term that ought to make for a fun exit). They also noted that he looked to be late 26 weeks early 27, or we just have a giant early 26 weeker, little mutant takes after his old man i guess. Patient talked to her OB and they are going to look into a home monitoring program and a direct line injection system ( i made up this term)so she can shoot herself up with terb is contractions get worse. They are seeing if insurance will cover it, would be cheaper for them because it is home monitoring or hospital room. Other than that Patient is bored, and if they send her home i am sure bed rest there will be boring also, but at least Buddy will be there and he is great at cheering you up. And this morning the on call ob was the stupid B***** from the other day, see previous post.

So, are we home yet?? I will call. Also, I will send Friends, Season 1-10. Hopefully this will cure some boredom. Although, it might be painful for you (it's painful for Ed to watch Friends) and I apologize in advance.
