Appointments

Today's appointments went well. My cervix length is holding steady around 26 and is still holding strong even with the contractions. The amniotic fluid is still high but in the normal range. The 97th percentile to be exact. The Peri still thinks that I am a high risk for premature labor because of the short cervix, contractions and the amount of fluid. All in all we are all pleased that I am still pregnant. The regular OB appointment was good as well. They gave me the lab slip for the dreaded Gestational Diabetes Test. The Husband is wondering how I am going to be able to do this since I cannot get cough syrup down without having a minor meltdown. So Monday should be interesting. I cannot decide if I want my mom or dad to take me since The Husband will be in Hawaii and unavailable to play chauffeur. I am still on strict bed rest for at least the next four weeks, and then hopefully onto a modified bed rest.

The Boy ... what can I say. He is big. He is in the 75th percentile for growth at this point. The ultra sound has him weighing in at 3lbs and 13ozs, and measuring about one to two weeks ahead. All this to me means I have a mini-giant growing inside of me. I could not be happier that he is as big as he is, it makes the thought of a premature baby as comforting as it can be considering he would still be premature if labor were to happen now. Below is the best picture that we were able to get from the camera shy guy.

I go back to the Peri and OB in two weeks. Then it will be every week for monitoring the growth to make sure The Boy stays on track with weight gain. I have also graduated from cervix length checks. I am pleased with this small step forward, at this point I will take any little step I can get.
