Hopefully I Passed This Test

I had the Gestational Diabetes test this morning. I was really not looking forward to it. I was scared from all the horror stories I heard about drinking the Glucola and how it tastes and that some people throw up. Taking cough syrup is a big production for me, or so The Husband likes to point out. There is a lot of heavy breathing and whining about how I am not really that sick. Then there is the nose pinching and more procrastinating. The whole process easily takes five minutes. So needless to say the drink scared me. (If The Husband does not think this is an accurate portrayal then He can feel free to post his own version of how I take cough syrup.)

I got there they handed me the drink. Told me I had five minutes to get it down and that I should try to keep it down because I would just have to drink more if it came up. So the cough syrup production started even before I took the cap off. Once I was brave enough to get the cap off, I smelled it and amazingly enough it did not smell awful. I tried a small drink without plugging my nose (I was trying to be a grown up in public) and decided that I could get it all down with no fuss. All in all it was not the terrible experience that I had imagined it would be.

The doctor said he would call if there was a problem. If I did not hear from them, then I was fine. I am going to go out on a limb and say everything is fine, because I really don't need to add another problem onto the ones that I am already having. Besides, food is the one area I can still have some control over.

With that being said I am going to go and have a Sprite and for dessert tonight my Dad is making an Oreo Ice Cream Pie. Can you say YUMMY?
