It's been awhile. I know, bad blogger. A lot has been going on, and I have just been too lazy to keep up with the blog.
Jackson had his 9 month well child. It went well (I guess, I was not there). He had blood drawn, and Craig said that he got tears in his eyes. I guess my little guy didn't like it too much. That would have made me cry if I had been there. Tears in the eyes always get me. The only thing that came back with that was Jackson is slightly anemic. But I figure that we are just starting meats. So the combination of that and the medicine will turn things around.
Jackson now weighs 19 pounds and is 28 inches long. He is a tiny guy for such big parents. (Big as in tall, not fat.) Other than those interesting details, I guess nothing else happened at his appointment. Well except for all the ladies coming out to gush all over him. They sure do like the babies at the doctor's office. Oh, and I don't need to worry about teeth until he's two. At that time they will do x-rays to see what's going on in the gums. Hi ... what am I supposed to worry about then? I think I am going to turn my attention to the weight and height. That seems like something that can consume my thoughts all day ... Is he eating enough? Should we be feeding him more? How do we make him eat when he clamps his mouth shut? See look at how easily I can change the direction that I worry.
Jackson has decided that crawling and being on your bottom is for babies. He is obviously not one of them. He is pulling up like crazy, and if you try to sit him down on the floor he will stick his legs out to keep from going all the way down. Jackson is also working on mastering the fall. He won't fall down on his butt. He'll turn his body and stick out an arm so that he can fall that way. He really doesn't cry too much if he does fall backwards, not even when he bonks his head.
We are also starting to barricade Jackson in the living room, because the dog dish is great to play in don't you know! There's usually water to splash around in AND if you're lucky there may be these awesome bite sized snacks. YUM! Who doesn't want to eat what the dog is eating? So we barricade him in using the ottoman and either the car seat or pillows. Jackson however is way to smart for us tricksy hobbits and will climb over the pillows or push on the car seat until it flips up and he can escape. What's a parent to do ... I say let him eat dog food and drink the dogs water!
I have become THAT parent ... I think my kid is adorable! He is so darn cute, or maybe his expressions are what is cute.

Try coating the car seat straps with avocado, he seems to like chewing on those on the way to the dog bowl. He is such a cutie, tweak his little ears for me.
he is cute and you know it is all about buddy not having to share, so keep up the barricades.
Hey, did you know it is getting to the end of May and you have not posted an album this month...unless it is private?
