Anyone who knows me, knows that I love my car. I am so happy that Craig let me have the Al.tima Hy.brid. Especially since they don't even sell it in this state. We had to drive to NJ. (We did this drive a couple times.) I love that I can drive through most neighborhoods without even using the gas engine. I love that I can sit in traffic, at lights, or in parking lots and not have to use the gas engine. I love that I get great gas mileage. I love the fact that I can fit Jackson and Buddy in the car with no problems. I wish more car companies would start making Hy.brids. There are such few choices for people like Craig and I who like the gas mileage of Hy.brids but also the environmental aspects of driving one. Our next car will most likely be another Hy.brid. Well, it will be the next car that Craig gets, I think we will look at the Ho.ndas. We like the Toy.otas but they are a little pricey. And really when it comes right down to it the Pri.us is just not that pretty to look at, don't get me wrong I would love to have one! Just for the gas mileage alone, but I can't really get over the way they look. (Even though after so many years of them being on the road they don't really gross me out any longer.)
The reason I say all this is that I am disappointed in Ni.ssan for raising the price of this car. They are now starting at $26,650. We paid no where near this amount for ours. We got such a great deal, I don't think we would be able to get it again. If we had not bought the Al.tima when we did I would not be getting this car. I would probably end up with the Ca.mry Hy.brid. I like this car, but everyone around here has one. I love the fact that I have only ever seen ONE other Ni.ssan Hy.brid while driving back and forth to work. I like the fact that I am different. I am kind of brand loyal and Craig and I have only ever had good Ni.ssan's. I really think that my love for this brand will keep us buying at least one out of the two cars that we own.
In closing, I would encourage Ni.ssan to keep this car affordable. I would encourage other car makers out there to get with it, and make their own Hy.brids that actually get good gas mileage and are good for the environment. And I would encourage everyone to at least look into purchasing a Hy.brid when you look for your next car. There are some great choices out there. (And I stress some.)
