And the magic number is ...

The doctor's appointment went well. My cerix is holding in the mid 20's. 26 to be precise. Woo Hoo 26! We can breathe a little easier for the next two weeks. I, however, have not been given permission to leave the bed. It will remain my home for a little while longer.

We were both very glad to hear the news and very glad that it was a doctor that we actually liked that we got to see today. He is one of the more conservative doctors in the practice, so it made me feel good that he was happy with the results of the cervix check. Things were a little rocky at the beginning when The Husband wasn't allowed to come back to the ultra sound room. To say he was upset is an understatement. He was trying his hardest not to yell at me about the situation. (I think the reason he wasn't allowed back is because you go into a changing room and then you enter the ultra sound room. The tech was very busy and over booked I am sure if I had asked or it had been a non-stressful day for her The Husband could have come into the room.) But he began to calm down until the nurse was suggesting a physical cervix check. Luckily, I was calm and told her that we and the peri did not think it necessary to actually touch my cervix. I just need to get a sign that on one side says Not an Enterance and on the reverse Not an Exit. We got past that and by the time the doctor came in he was fine.

We did get a picture of The Baby's hand. I will try to scan it in so that I can post it. The picture shows a little of His profile. He looks almost normal! Who would have thought? I am quite frightened of the earlier pictures where He looks like a blob, alien, insert your own word here. I am in no way saying it's not cool to see His develpment and growth but whoever thinks those early pictures are cute ... umm gross. Anyway, I am not sure if we will be getting any more of the cute pictures since now they are just interested in my cervix. Maybe we can get the peri's tech to give us some in two weeks. They will be looking at the amniotic fluid level, so they should be able to scroll down and take a quick pic!

All in all it was a good visit and we are both VERY happy with what we heard. Now we just need to wait for 34-36 weeks when hopefully I will be able to rejoin the land of the living.
