Detached
Well i guess i am either emotionless toward or just detached from the boy. Last night after he fell asleep i took him to his room to sleep for the first time. Put him on his belly, turned on the monitor and left him. The only thoughts i had after i left him was whether or not the fleece sleeper was going to be to warm for him. Mommy however should have just slept on the floor next to his crib. Within the first 10 minutes she checked on him 4 times and made me check twice. Not sure what we were checking for but i went in and looked at him (still sleeping). Mommy was awake about every 10 minutes worrying about him and when he finally awoke 3.5 hours later (kid will not sleep any longer than 4 hours...EVER) it only took one little chirp and mommy was in his room rescuing him from the solitary confinement that i sentenced him to. I guess my logical brain trusts that the technology (monitor) will alert me if when he is awake or not breathing. Mommy thinks that if he is next to her she will somehow be able to tell when something is not right (even though she doesn't always wake up in the middle of the night when he gags or whimpers). So does it make me a bad daddy that it doesn't bother me in the slightest to send the boy to his own room? Before you answer that i am also the parent that wants to see if the boy will cry himself back to sleep before we come to the rescue. I am in the opinion that the bedroom is for two things and having a little one in there disrupts both. Now if we could just get the dog to sleep on the floor.

Must be a man thing. Ed was the same way. I think Mommies are just paranoid :)
Okay we'll I agree with you on some levels. I let our little boy cry it out mostly because he thinks he has to be held all the time and then he wants you to hold him while he sleeps so I just let him cry him self to sleep some nights, especially if I just fed him and changed him and nothing else could be wrong. He is in my room right now but only because he's too little to share a room with his big sis, she may try to smother him.
