(I am limited on pictures, so this is as good as it gets. Internets, meet Buddy.)
Buddy is having some adjustment issues with me laying in bed all day. He has forgotten all his manners. Since I have food brought to me in bed (that sounds a bit pompous), he has decided that it is okay to get as close as possible to the food. It used to be he would sniff the air and lick the air in the vicinity of the food. He started out by inching closer and closer to the food on the tray, until he was sniffing on the tray. This closeness leads to the Chicken Licker.
We had chicken for dinner, very good chicken by the way ... thanks Nanny James. I finished eating the chicken and moved onto the salad, looked away for a nanosecond, and Bud had has tongue around the chicken bone. I swatted him on the nose and he looked at me as if he couldn't understand why my fingers had met his nose. Really dog, you didn't know that what you just did was wrong? He then gave me the sad eyes and decided it might be best to lay down and actually pretend to be a good dog.
Later on in the evening, Nanny James was eating some pineapple chucks and The Worlds Best Dog again decided it was no big deal to lick the pineapple container. And again my fingers met his nose. And again he looks at me as if he has NO clue that what he just did was bad on any level.
There are a number of people I blame this on, the first being The Discipliner. Bud is used to seeing The Husband (who said I couldn't use his name or put his picture on the blog) every evening and it keeps him calmed and well behaved. Or at least Bud has the appearances of being well behaved. (All that know this sweet creature know that he tries so hard to be a good boy, but sometimes it is just too much to behave.) Then Bud has heard that certain people that spoil him rotten, people from Florida, are coming and he feels he must get out his badness before they get here so they will love him even more.
I blame these people for my dog deciding that it is okay to LICK CHICKEN!
